Enjoying achieving; achieving enjoyment.

“I have come that they may have life and live it to the full.”

~ John, Chapter 10 Verse 10

Welcome to Crosby-on-Eden C of E Primary School

We are in the top 1% of primary schools in England for reading and writing at KS2

Crosby-on-Eden C of E Primary School is a small school with a 3-11 age range. The school converted to Academy Status in November 2012. We are a church school in which ‘all members of the school community know that they are valued and the ethos of trust and respect is clearly evident.’ (SIAMS 2015). The school has excellent links with the church, local community and cluster schools. We are highly committed to working effectively and constructively in partnership with parents. Our Governors are involved in every aspect of school life and work effectively to ensure dynamic leadership, high standards and sound management. We have an exceptional school that values and invests in every member of the school community. Crosby-on-Eden Primary School is vibrant, exciting and led with vision, honesty and purpose. ‘Relationships between all members of the school community are excellent; staff and children demonstrate compassion and kindness.’ (SIAMS 2015)

In 2013, Crosby-on-Eden School was judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for the second consecutive inspection. The inspection highlighted: ‘Crosby on Eden provides an outstanding education for all its pupils and prepares them extremely well for the next stage in their education. This includes their personal development as well as their academic achievement’ (Ofsted, June 2013)

We are proud of our school and everyone in it; our School Development Plan 2018-19 aims to develop and enhance our exceptional provision for children.

Our Whole School Vision Statement

Our school vision is based on our Christian values, chosen every year by the whole school community. For the academic year 2018/19 our values are:

Respect, Friendship, Trust and Perseverance

Our whole school vision statement: ‘I have come that they may have life and live it to the full’ (John 10:10) reflects our shared school vision to:

  1. To have enjoyment of learning at the heart of all we do.

  2. To have a challenging, fun, creative and engaging curriculum where everyone is motivated to achieve their best.

  3. To foster spirituality, awe and wonder.

  4. To appreciate, celebrate and learn from our natural environment, created by God.

  5. To be healthy and safe and to treat each other as equals, showing mutual respect and friendship towards every member of the school community.

  6. To be a happy, vibrant school, where love and friendship towards each other and our community has the highest value.
