Our eldest two children are at William Howard with our youngest two being in classes 1 & 2.

Outside of being treasurer for a number of charities, included the school PTA, I also play league hockey for Carlisle each week.

Elspeth Mackay

I have been on the Crosby-on-Eden School Governing Body since 2004. I first joined as a parent governor and I am now a co-opted Governor. I have really enjoyed being part of the Governing Body over the years. I am currently the Interim Chair of the Governing Body and also Chair the Leadership and Management Sub-Committee. I also have specific responsibility for working with the Head Teacher on the Christian ethos of the school. I work for the Langham Partnership.

I am married to Donald and we have two girls – Seona (18) and Heather (15), who used to go to Crosby-on-Eden Primary School. They still keep in touch with the friends they made at Crosby-on-Eden.

Ayesha Weston

Ex Officio

Hello, My name is Ms Weston and I am the Headteacher. It is my whole hearted belief that learning should be fun, child led and adventurous; just as it is at Crosby-on-Eden. As well as leading our exceptional school, I also teach R.E. (my favourite subject) in KS2.

Rev. Steve Collis

Ex Officio

Married to Kath I have two adult daughters and three grandchildren.

Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Trained in Hotel and Catering Management and first worked at Edinburgh University, working for a short time in a full time Conference centre and then employed as a Bursar/Manager at Durham and Sheffield Universities, before returning to a Durham College to study for the Anglican Church Ministry.

I am a very keen sports fan and have been a Football Chaplain at three league clubs along with a number of other interests. Travel has been a real passion and I have been very fortunate to be able to do this with my family and for my work. During my travels I have been privileged to serve on the Governing Bodies of four schools.

I have now retired and we moved to Brampton in June 2016

Sarah Cooper

Parent Governor

My name is Sarah Cooper. I live local and I’m married with 1 daughter who attends Crosby on Eden school.

I am a busy working mum as I manage a local private nursery, but in my spare time whilst juggling the busy life of a 6 year old I enjoy socializing with friends, dog walks and enjoy family time.

The school values really give the pupils a sense of ownership and belonging which in turn highly promotes their well-being and achievements.

Rob MacKenna

Parent Governor

My name’s Rob MacKenna. Originally from the south of England I’ve spent time living in Wales and Scotland before moving to Cumbria seventeen years ago. I’m married and have two daughters both of whom are at Crosby on Eden school.

Having studied for degrees in forestry and business I work in the forest industry as a senior manager for a timber processing company in Lockerbie. I participate in a range of outdoor pursuits and enjoy spending time in The Lake District, out on the water or up in the fells.

mrs dinwoodie

Sorrel Dinwoodie

Staff Governor

Working at Crosby for nine years, most of you will probably know me quite well already, for those of you that don’t, I’m the one in the playground at 8.40am. The children are also quite well versed in my likes and dislikes, so I won’t bore you with details.

As my girls, now 17 and 15 (I know I don’t look old enough) were Crosby pupils, I have been in the unique position of seeing how decisions made as staff and governors directly impact the children. To see how parents’ and pupils’ views are listened to, and how it shapes changes in school. .

Miss Fox

Debbie Fox

Staff Governor

My name is Miss Fox and I am really excited about teaching in Class 4. Most of my spare time is taken up spending time with my two lovely children although I do enjoy meeting friends, shopping and rock climbing. I enjoy teaching fun, creative and messy lessons!

mrs wood

Lydia Wood

Clerk to Governors

Hello, my name is Lydia Wood and I am the School Business Manager & Clerk to the Governors. If I’m not looking at spreadsheets or under a mountain of paperwork, I am spending time with my family, browsing antique shops, gardening or walking.
