Fairtrade Schools Award

fair tradeBecoming a Fairtrade School means joining a worldwide movement – a movement where young people learn that, whatever their age, they have the power to make a difference in the world.

It offers a great opportunity to look at global issues such as where our food comes from and how we are connected to people around the world.

Children in Class 4 were keen to work towards gaining Fairtrade status for our school and, with some help, have achieved our first award. They then held an assembly explaining to the whole school what it is about and how they can help. Children from Class, 2, 3 and 4 have successfully implemented an action plan to gain both the 2nd and 3rd awards. Well done everyone.

More information about Fairtrade schools can be found on the Fairtrade website
