RE Week

Class one enjoyed handling the key figures in the Nativity story through a ‘Godly Play’ session with Reverend Rachel as well as thinking about who is important to them after a bible story with Rachel from NISCU.  With Mrs Dalgleish, they had a drama session based on the bible story ‘Jairus’ daughter’ and finally Class 1 visted the church with Class 3 on Friday to share their learning with one another.

The whole school have been busy baking to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Each class baked a delicious delight, from gingerbread men, cake pops, fairy buns to Mars bar cakes. We raised an amazing total of £154.64 for this fantastic cause.

Well done children!

Class 1 have displayed a mature approach shown to their first Harvest Festival.  Lots of enthusiastic singing – well done!  Our class 1 children also showed perseverance whilst digging up the vegetables in the school garden.

Class 1 also enjoyed their time with Zoolab whereby they handled some lovely creatures!

Class 2 – have improved in their collaboration skills.  They have also displayed resilience in their writing.  All are very focused on independence, especially our Year 2 pupils.

Class 3 – have shown excellent collaborative skills when creating their cave paintings.  They have made their own paints and worked very well together to think about strategies to create them.

Class 4 – we have received some lovely parental comments about the way in which Class 4 presented, with big loud clear voices, at our Harvest Festival service.

Our Class 4 pupils thoroughly enjoyed their time with Zoolab!  Well done asking loads of pertinent questions about creatures and rainforests.

Zoolab Workshop

Tristan, the ZooLab Ranger took Class 4 on an exciting journey through the rainforest, allowing them to get hands-on with real rainforest animals, from slithery snakes to tickly tarantulas! The children found out about the different rainforest layers that these animals live in, who and what they eat, and how they are being threatened with extinction.
